CTI Celebrates New Computer Labs!

Two generous donors were honored at CTI "Cable Cutting" Open House on March 14.

To commemorate their investment in the technology workforce, donors Roy Hock and Lincoln Financial Group Foundation were honored for contributing brand new computer labs to CTI.

After starting his educational career at MCC/CTI last year Brent Morales is already on his way to the top. Morales will graduate this upcoming May and was offered a full-time position with one of the largest manufacturers of specialty chemicals, Rohm & Haas.

Former MCC Graduate Offers Second Chance

Sharon Najlla-Avery is really giving back to the community by offering the similar job-readiness opportunities she was given when she attended MCC in 1990.

After graduating from MCC Germantown’s Basic Office Skills program she obtained a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from St. Joseph University in 1997. She has worked as a Case Manager for the Women’s Christian Alliance and the School District of Philadelphia.

Germantown Residents Receive A Combined $1,000,000 In Tax CreditsAs a site for free tax assistance MCC helped the Campaign for Working Families serve over 600 people and bring $1,000,000 worth of income back into the community.

Wachovia and PNC Donations Reach $100,000– Recently, Wachovia and PNC Bank presented MCC with generous donations to support the STRIVE program and the Spring Event. This brings Wachovia's total contributions to $100,000 since 2003. Since 1999, MCC has received over $100,000 from PNC Bank, Advisors, and Foundation.

MCC Partners In New EARN Center Over the next 18 months the Department of Public Welfare will open 10 new EARN centers. MCC will serve as a training provider for its Northwest location which is scheduled to open in March 2007.
